Murata and Everynet announce ready-to-connect LoRaWAN® communication module

March 25th, 2021 Delft, Netherlands – Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Nagaokakyo City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan; hereinafter “Murata”) and Everynet BV (Head Office: Delft, Netherlands; hereinafter “Everynet”) announce their partnership to develop ready-to-connect LoRaWAN® module on Everynet networks globally.

LoRaWAN® is a scalable and mature technology with about 148 operators in 162 countries around the world and standardized by The LoRa Alliance. It provides a secure end-to-end solution to address multiple applications in the Smart Cities, Utilities, Logistics & Tracking, Agriculture and many other especially those battery operated requiring up to 10~15 years lifetime and long range wireless communications over several kilometres. Everynet supports all the use cases with its carrier-grade and Neutral-host LoRaWAN® national network, which is now deployed in several countries including Brazil, Puerto Rico, Indonesia, Italy, United Kingdom and Spain.

Murata excellence in module manufacturing combined with Everynet expertise in LoRaWAN® network and platforms will provide device manufacturers with an integrated ready-to-connect module to accelerate and simplify their journey to develop such end-to-end solution by offloading the complexity related to the hardware and software design, regulatory RF certifications, and connection to Everynet network and Cloud Platform.

Murata module with built-in Everynet firmware will be a derivative of Type 1SJ, World’s smallest LoRaWAN® module, and could be pre-provisioned with prepaid connectivity data plan from Everynet (“EVRY1”). This new solution is planned to be available around Q2 2021 and capable of operating on Everynet LoRaWAN® networks globally.

“By collaborating with Everynet, a global leading LoRaWAN® network operator, we would like to provide designers with a turn-key LoRaWAN® connectivity module solution to simplify and accelerate their IoT products development”, said Akira Sasaki, General Manager – IoT Group, Murata. “We are looking forward to bring such innovation and additional value to our customers across many regions and in many areas such as utilities, asset tracking, smart cities, smart buildings, industrial, agriculture, and other IoT applications.”

“As we continue our rapid global network expansion, we are pleased to have Murata Manufacturing, a worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and sales of electronics components & communication modules as our global ecosystem module partner. Murata’s highly integrated LoRa-based modules make it easy for our developers and sensor manufacturers to develop many new IoT applications for our network without worrying about underlying radio connectivity or our network security.” Says Sebastian Koh, Head of Global Ecosystem Partnership, EveryNet. “We want to shorten the design and sales cycle for our users so they can focus on accelerate their mass IoT deployment on our networks globally.”
